I went to Victoria BC with my family in October. The drive to Port Angeles from Portland was four hours, and then it was a 1.5-hour ferry ride across the Strait of Juan de Fuca to Victoria. Our hotel was located right on the harbor, near the Empress Hotel and the Royal BC Museum and across from the seaplanes taking off and landing in the water.
We didn’t have any plans for our trip, just to walk and wander and relax. The weather wasn’t especially warm, but it wasn’t too cold, either; the skies were grey but there was no wind, so it was pleasant to meander along Government Street and explore the city on foot.
